Porto and Lisbon went to Cannes to attract foreign investment
The mayors of Porto, Rui Moreira, and Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, were, on Wednesday, speakers at a conference on the transformations of cities, in a post-pandemic context at MIPIM. Both Portuguese municipalities are present at the world's largest real estate fair - MIPIM - which is held annually in Cannes (France), with the aim of attracting investment.

The session, under the theme "Leading Urban Transformation in Post-Pandemic Times", was moderated by the director of Diário de Notícias, Rosália Amorim, and both mayors discussed the assets of the two cities to attract national and foreign investors.

The Mayor of Porto presented strategies, the positioning and investment ecosystem of the city of Porto, taking a look at what is expected of the cities of the future, which are now centres of sharing, innovation and wealth.

Before an attentive audience, themes such as housing, energy, offices, mobility and environment were discussed, areas where there are new business opportunities.

MIPIM runs until this Friday, 18th of March, and counts with the presence of representatives from 100 countries, 3800 companies and more than 480 speakers. Porto will present itself to investors from all over the world with a delegation of 16 companies and more than 75 real estate projects in various segments (residential, offices, hotels, commerce and urban rehabilitation).
