New challenges and the reinvention of the local economy is the theme of the last webinar with the participation of Rui Moreira
29 Jun 2020

The last cycle of the five webinars (online conferences) "Economy of the city of Porto" will take place this Thursday and will include the participation of Rui Moreira.

Promoted by the municipality, the last cycle of five webinars will take place next Thursday, July 2, at 5 pm. Participation is free, but requires prior registration.

In this closing session, the invited speakers will identify the new challenges facing the local economy, which must be reinvented in the post-pandemic.

The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, will speak at the beginning of the session.

We recall that in the last sessions of this cycle of online debates, held throughout the month of May, topics such as fiscal and financing measures, the role of technology in this period of crisis, tourism, the positioning of Porto as a security destination were discussed and also the trade sector and the future reality of business.

This last session will aim to summarize the concerns and challenges, across all sectors of activity, in an empirical approach that promotes ways and solutions for reinventing the local economy.

The opening of this last webinar will be in charge of Miguel Fontes (Partner Deloitte), who will launch the debate on the theme: Macro Context and Global Challenges to Recovery.

The Mayor of Porto will be the first speaker invited to speak on the panel. "Porto as the source of national recovery" is the theme chosen by Rui Moreira to reflect on how the city can be an example and contribution to leveraging the economy again.

The conference will also feature examples of success and overcoming in the IT (information technology) sector, which participants will be able to know through João Lima Pinto, CEO of a company specialized in credit software.

The president of AEP - Associação Empresarial de Portugal, Luís Miguel Ribeiro, also participates in this last session, focusing his intervention on opportunities and new business models.

Finally, the "Critical success factors for recovery - Role of Local Government" will be analyzed by specialist Miguel Eiras Antunes, public sector leader Portugal & Global Cities leader. At the end, participants will be able to ask questions of the panel guests.

Participation is free and registration can be done HERE.
