MindShift – Preventing Human Exhaustion in Organizations

MindShift – Preventing Human Exhaustion in Organizations

On Friday, 11 September, Impact Hub Porto will host MindShift – Preventing Human Exhaustion in Organizations, the first event of a new programme dedicated to preventing human exhaustion in organisations. Taking place from 9:00 to 13:00 at the Instituto Pernambuco-Porto Brasil in Porto, the event is organised by Impact Hub Porto, part of the Impact Hub Network – a global community of over 120 Impact Hubs and more than 500,000 Impact Makers spanning more than 65 countries across five continents. The network is dedicated to enabling inclusive and sustainable innovation at scale by building locally rooted, globally connected ecosystems that bring together entrepreneurs, investors and public institutions.

According to the organisers, cognitive pressure in today's workplaces has become a constant, and the greatest threat facing organisations is no longer occasional stress, but sustained, chronic exhaustion. Left unaddressed, this takes a toll across three main areas: Productivity, Talent Retention, Quality of work and Risk of burnout.

The event, MindShift, has been designed as a direct response to these challenges, bringing together scientific expertise, personal biometric data and hands-on leadership training in a single morning. What sets the event apart is its practical, evidence-based format. Ahead of the day, each participant will receive a cortisol testing kit, with results made available in advance, allowing attendees to arrive with a concrete understanding of their own physiological stress indicators - insights that will then be explained and contextualised by leading experts on the day itself.

Building on this personal foundation, the programme continues with a practical workshop in which leaders will learn to recognise early warning signs of burnout and develop strategies for building healthier, more resilient and more sustainable teams.
