Eligible operations involve promoting the registration of industrial property rights in the form of patents, utility models, and designs through national, European, and international procedures, specifically:
- Definitive national applications for patents, utility models, and designs submitted to the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property (INPI);
- Applications for patents, utility models, and designs submitted abroad directly to the respective national authorities, whether or not claiming Portuguese priority;
- European patent applications submitted either to INPI (regardless of claiming Portuguese priority) or to the European Patent Office (EPO), provided they claim priority from a Portuguese patent or utility model;
- Entry into national phases of an international patent application (PCT) submitted to INPI, the EPO, and/or the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), provided it claims priority from a Portuguese patent or utility model;
- Community design applications submitted to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Requirements
Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as small mid-cap companies of any legal nature and form, provided they meet the eligibility criteria set out in Article 14 of Decree-Law No. 20-A/2023 of 22 March, and Articles 6 and 46(1) of the Specific Regulation for Innovation and Digital Transition (REITD), approved by Ordinance 103-A/2023 of 12 April, as amended.

This call is applicable to all NUTS II regions in mainland Portugal: North, Centre, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve.
The location of the operation corresponds to the region where the investment will be carried out.
