The new project in the Bonfim area will include a residential building and a new student residence, promoted by Promiris and Cetim.

Granjo is the name of the new residential project of the Belgian developers Promiris and Cetim in Porto, which will be located on António Granjo street, in Bonfim.

This is a mixed project, which will include a student residence and a residential building, in an old construction material factory. It will consist of six blocks, one of which housing, with 16 one-bedroom and two bedroom apartments. The remaining five blocks will have 212 rooms for students, in addition to a green area, with laundry, gym, study rooms and various social areas.

The construction of the project, which includes rehabilitation and new construction, is by Garcia Garcia. The architecture is designed by Fragmentos.

According to the construction company, "the new residence enhances the space where it is located, giving a new usage to the previously vacant facilities. It will also make it possible to meet, in a certain way, the growing need of the student housing market, which is facing the lack of accommodation available in the city, both for national and foreign students”.

The company further explains that "the façade and industrial chimney existing inside the complex were rehabilitated and maintained in accordance with the respective original versions. The rest of the building was designed in line with the industrial lines that characterized the place, thus maintaining an industrial and modern architectural style”. The construction is to be finished in December this year.

Promiris is currently developing several other projects in Portugal, namely in Porto, Lisbon and Vila Nova de Gaia.
