Concentrix Corporation (NASDAQ: CNXC) recently launched a new service in Portugal, as part of the global ‘Harmony’ project. This initiative will provide support to employees who carry out Trust & Safety functions for some of the best-known brands in social media and other areas of activity.
The increase in the volume of human-moderated content and its growing complexity has led to greater psychological pressure on those who carry out this work. As such, Concentrix has created a hub that offers a personalised clinical service around the clock, based on innovative technologies, wellbeing algorithms, and mental health programmes.
In total, 150 psychologists, fluent in several languages and supported by advanced technology, will support 20 countries, with 15 of these professionals in the company's Porto hub. Apart from Porto, only the Manila hub was chosen by Concentrix for this latest investment.
"Trust & Safety functions are essential for maintaining a safe online environment. They protect users of social networks, and various other platforms, from harmful, abusive content, and fraudulent activities. However, the people who do this kind of work are exposed to thousands of complex and sensitive pieces of content every day that can affect their well-being and mental health. The Harmony project aims to combat the side effects that this profession can have on employees," said Serra Pittsa, Global Director of Wellbeing in Trust & Safety at Concentrix.
The content moderation service currently covers more than 60 languages in order to meet the needs of countries in South-East Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.
"The decision to set up this Centre of Excellence in the city of Porto is related to the high number of qualified psychologists in Portugal, as the company needed to guarantee rigour in the training and service provided to so many countries," added Carlos Moreira, Managing Director of Concentrix in Portugal.
Concentrix is a major employer in Portugal, with over 6,000 employees from 81 different nationalities. The company manages client operations in four cities: Lisbon, Porto, Aveiro, and Braga. In Porto, Concentrix has around 2,000 employees, having considerably increased the size of its operations over the last four years.
