On June 14th Casa da Música welcomed the Conference Cycle "Challenges of the New Economy in the City” under the theme "Employer Branding – How to capture and retain talent".

The meeting had as speakers Richard Mosley, vice-president for strategy at the company Universum, with vast experience in Human Resources and leadership of projects for brand development in entities and multinational companies, such as BP, Coca-Cola, European Commission, GSK, L'Oreal, PepsiCo, Santander, Unilever or World Food Program; Carlos Maia, regional director at Hays; and Telmo Fernandes, head of human resources at Natixis.

The cycle comprises two more conferences, which will be held in September and December, in two other iconic venues of the City: the Serralves Museum and the Rivoli Theatre. Of free entry, they result from a challenge posed by Councillor for Economy, Tourism and Commerce of the Porto City Council, Ricardo Valente, meant to "create a closer approximation of the whole ecosystem of the city and current themes, with impact on the local development ". In sum, this conference cycle opens the doors for the involvement of public and private entities in the discussion of relevant themes for the economic development of the city.

As reiterated by Ricardo Valente, for the Municipality this kind of events is fundamental to bring together "political agents of the city, the academic world and the corporate ecosystem”, bringing them together "in a forum of discussion with the participation of speakers of international prestige and agents of the local economic system".
