Continental Engineering Services Portugal, located in Porto will hire 400 engineers by the year 2025.

The company, which consists of the technology development center of the German multinational Continental, already employs a hundred engineers and wants to recruit another 150 by the end of next year. Stating that the company's goal is to reach 500 engineers by 2025.

The German group decided to set up a new company in Portugal, in the summer of 2019, after "almost six years of exchanging information, studies, analyzes, and negotiations". The announcement of the decision to install a new company in Porto was made in November 2019. At the time, the company stated that it would hire 300 engineers.

The multinational pointed out that the choice of location in Porto would help to develop solutions for the next era of mobility, such as electric vehicles or autonomous driving. Also, referring the focus on research and development of solutions related to the cybersecurity area. The announcement of the installation came a few months after Continental announced an investment of one hundred million euros in the tire factory in Lousado, with the aim of boosting production.
