Coverflex, Fraudio and Holywally are the three Portuguese selected to join the 2023 edition of the Visa Innovation Programme Europe (VIPE), between Portugal and Spain. In all, eight fintechs were selected to participate in the programme that provides the fintech ecosystem with access to Visa's infrastructure, including one-on-one mentoring sessions, advice, technological tools and access to customers to validate their value proposition. Dedomena AI, Dogood people, Goscore, Reveni and Toqio are the selected Spanish startups.

"We are very proud to have the Visa Innovation Programme Europe 2023 in Portugal and Spain and thus extend this successful trajectory internationally. With this project, Visa aims to continue connecting the fintech ecosystem, acting as an open and available network, providing them with the visibility they need to scale their businesses. In short, with this programme we want to continue to contribute to the development of payments of the future", comments Gonçalo Santos, Visa's country manager in Portugal, in a statement.

In Portugal, where out of a total of 111 applications three were selected, the programme will be supported by Hackquarters and Fintech Solutions.

"At Hackquarters, which proudly supports the startup ecosystem, we are passionate about helping ambitious entrepreneurs connect with the right corporate partners. (...) By helping fintech startups grow their businesses, the Visa Innovation Programme Europe provides access to a global network of innovation, financial and commercial expertise, while showcasing excellent examples that rethink the entire customer connection," says Kaan Akın, CEO and founder of Hackquarters.

António Veiga Ferrão, executive director of Fintech Solutions, also notes that "the selected startups allow their customers to offer new contexts of use and innovative experiences"."But the challenge has just begun and over the next few months we will work hard with the selected startups and the ecosystem that VISA provides. It is also very positive to be working at an Iberian level, and to take advantage of the strong ties between Portugal and Spain", he adds.

The programme, which has received more than a thousand applications since 2018, had more than 300 in this edition, from Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Turkey, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
