Some 14 years after founding Critical Manufacturing, together with three other former directors of the bankrupt Qimonda, creating a company that today has a turnover of 45 million euros and employs around 600 people, Francisco Almada Lobo is still at the helm of the technology company from Maia, which is promoting an innovative event worldwide this week.

This is the "MES & Industry 4.0 International Summit", which Critical Manufacturing guarantees "is the first international event dedicated to the theme of digital transformation in the production industries, taking place in Porto", with the aim of "inspiring industrial companies to connect for a smarter future".

Scheduled for September 7 and 8, at Alfândega in Porto, the "MES & Industry 4.0 International Summit" has "confirmed the presence of the world's largest industrial companies in the semiconductor, medical device, electronics, industrial equipment, and other high-tech industrial areas", says Critical Manufacturing in a statement.

The event will be attended, among others, by giants such as Hitachi, B. Braun, Wolfspeed, LAM Research, Vishay, Red Hat, and ASMPT, the Singaporean group that currently owns 90% of Critical Manufacturing, with the remaining 10% in the hands of the company's founders.

The "MES & Industry 4.0 International Summit" program includes conferences, round tables, demonstrations, interactive sessions, and case studies designed to help industry professionals navigate the path to digital transformation.

"At a time when the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies and models in companies is gaining more and more prominence, we consider it crucial to raise awareness of their status and show Portuguese companies how they can embark on the digital transformation process and, at the same time, take advantage of this measure to boost the competitiveness of national industry," says Francisco Almada Lobo.

"In addition, it will also be possible to learn in detail and first hand about the technological solutions and national talents capable of placing a Portuguese company at the top of the world's digital transformation suppliers," says the CEO of Critical Manufacturing.
