Critical Software and Airbus set to establish company dedicated to aerospace applications
The Porto Leading Investor will contribute to the development of aerospace applications for the French aeronautical giant
Porto Leading Investor Critical Software recently announced a new chapter in the company's collaboration with Airbus, the French aeronautical giant, reflecting a shared ambition to shape the future of aerospace software.
"By combining our expertise in embedded and critical systems with Airbus’s leadership, we aim to drive innovation where safety and reliability are paramount. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to building a safer, more advanced and sustainable world," said João Carreira, CEO of Critical Software.
The Leading Investor has maintained a connection with Airbus for 15 years. Under this new agreement, it will provide its know-how in developing software and systems for aerospace projects, such as cabin management applications.
"This partnership aims to combine the competencies of both companies in the architecture and supply of critical and certified software with regard to safety, covering areas such as avionics systems, cabin systems and connectivity solutions for both current and future aircraft", an official statement said.

The partnership reinforces Airbus's commitment to Portugal, where the French company has been established for over 50 years, creating more than 1,500 direct jobs and around 6,000 indirect jobs through its network of partners. With the Airbus Atlantic factory based in the Porto Metro Area, the French company also has a shared services hub headquartered in Lisbon and with offices in Coimbra.
