Displaced Talents for Europe, a project that aims to support IT talent in need of international protection

Displaced Talents for Europe, a project that aims to support IT talent in need of international protection
16 Dec 2022
The International Organization for Migration presents the project Displaced Talents for Europe in a presentation session, on 22 December, at 15:00, in the Auditorium of the Porto Innovation Hub.

The Displaced Talents for Europe (DT4E) project, implemented in Portugal by the International Organization for Migration and the High Commission for Migration, will enable people in need of international protection in Jordan and Lebanon to connect with employers and sustainably integrate into the labour market in Belgium, Ireland, Portugal and the United Kingdom.

This project aims to support IT talent in need of international protection by matching their skills with the recruitment needs of Portuguese technology companies.

The project will lay the groundwork for mobility schemes for displaced talent by testing complementary migration pathways, documenting best practices, identifying areas for policy reform and involving the private sector as well as refugee support organisations.

The three-year pilot project (December 2021 to December 2024) funded by the European Union (EU), aims to increase national support for the mobility of displaced talent, work with the private sector to address skills shortages through labour mobility schemes, support a minimum of 250 talent and their families through personalised pre-departure and post-arrival support, and create a community to exchange knowledge and experience.

Registration for this presentation session is free and can be done here.
