Hitachi Solutions Europe has invested more than two million euros in its new facilities in Matosinhos, which will employ around 100 people, confirmed the human resources director.

In this first phase, the Japanese company specialized in digital transformation will employ 100 people, but the goal is to double this number over the next five years, said Ana Vale. The goal is to attract young graduates in the fields of management, economics, finance, computer engineering, data science and artificial intelligence, she specified.

According to Ana Vale, retaining and attracting young talent in Portugal, particularly in the north of the country, was one of the factors that led Hitachi to set up in Matosinhos, in Porto.

Portugal "has some of the best and brightest young people", playing a key role "in numerous projects across Europe and around the world", said CEO Steven French, in a statement.

"It's fantastic to see people who joined us a few years ago already taking on important leadership roles in major international projects for our clients and, with the opening of this new office, we begin the next phase of our growth in Portugal," he added.

Dedicated to implementing digital solutions for large European companies, Hitachi Solutions Europe has more than 3,500 employees worldwide, 1,000 in Europe and are present in more than 11 countries.
