Hostel booking giants settle in Porto

Hostel booking giants settle in Porto
07 Apr 2017
Hostelworld will settle in Porto, creating an office and 50 qualified jobs by the end of the spring. The city of Porto is, therefore, the Portuguese city chosen by this company to invest in technological innovation and development, offering qualified employment.

According to John O'Donnell, Hostelworlds CTO, "Porto was chosen primarily because of its transport infrastructure and offices, as well as for its availability of skilled human resources and easy accessibility from Dublin or London, where the two European offices of the platform are settled, also noting "the diligent support from InvestPorto and the City Council.

The CTO added that "the location of Porto, on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, creates natural affinities with the Irish culture; we love the fact that Porto - and Portugal in general - is a great destination for our customers, and has some of the best hostels in the world.

Adding to this, Hostelworld group estimate the recruitment of more 50 people in the first 12 to 18 months of its operations in Porto, mostly young graduates in the fields of computer science and technology.
