Körber reinforces investment in the Porto district with a new plant
The Porto Leading Investor's new technological development and production plant for logistics solutions will create more than 400 jobs
Porto Leading Investor Körber has started building a new factory in the Porto district, in the Ermida Industrial Park in Santo Tirso. With a total area of 11,400 sqm., this new infrastructure - dedicated to the development and production of technological solutions for the logistics sector - is due to start operating in the second half of 2026.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on June 2nd, was attended by the group's CEO, Stephan Seifert, as well as other members of the German company's leadership team and strategic partners.
According to the management team, this investment represents a significant milestone in strengthening Körber's presence in Portugal, with a direct impact on the creation of skilled jobs and the consolidation of the region as a leading industrial and technological centre.

With global headquarters and a presence in more than 100 locations around the world, Körber currently employs around 13,000 people. Its business specialises in the development of integrated solutions - ranging from machinery to software and services - with a focus on automating and optimising production processes and supply chains, especially for the manufacturing and supply sectors.
In Portugal, Körber already has 364 employees distributed between the Vila do Conde plant, the logistics centre in Maia, and the offices in the Lionesa business centre in Matosinhos.
With this new investment, the company expects to create more than 400 full-time jobs, covering areas such as Customer Service, Engineering, Research and Development, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality Control, Purchasing, Project Management, Solution Design, and Sales.
