Mercan Group invests €23.8M in new Sé Catedral Hotel Porto

The new Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opened its doors this Monday, March 21st, a new investment of 23.8 million euros by Mercan Properties. It is the first project under the Tapestry Collection brand of the Hilton group in Portugal.
This urban regeneration project has given rise to a 77-room hotel, restaurant, bar and terrace café overlooking Porto's Cathedral.
Jordi Vilanova, chairman of Mercan Properties, said in a statement that "the Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will be an architectural landmark in the city of Porto. The hotel has an innovative concept, next to one of the city's main monuments, the Sé Cathedral. This project results from the conversion of a historic building, considered a UNESCO heritage site in 2012, which now gives way to a modern and welcoming hotel, open to the city and visitors from all over the world."
This is Mercan Properties' second hotel to open doors in Porto, after Hotel Casa da Companhia, which opened in July last year.
The hotel will be managed by Ace Hospitality Management.
