NILG.AI, a Porto-based startup, wins Silver at the Lusophone Creativity Awards
UPTEC-incubated startup recognised for innovation in AI-driven data marketing
NILG.AI, a startup incubated at UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, has been awarded Silver in the Data Marketing category at the Lusophone Creativity Awards.
Founded in 2018, the company focuses on helping organisations enhance decision-making and operational efficiency through Artificial Intelligence, working across sectors such as hospitality, transport, healthcare and education.
According to Kelwin Fernandes, CEO of NILG.AI, "The marketing and advertising sector is undergoing its greatest structural transformation since the advent of the internet, and the clearest signs of this are emerging at creativity festivals.” The company had already received a Gold award in Public Relations in the previous quarter, reflecting the growing role of AI in areas traditionally dominated by conventional agencies.
NILG.AI reports that the application of strategic AI has enabled a 50% reduction in Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) and a 235% increase in its client base over the past year. The company has also gained international visibility, becoming the only Portuguese representative in its sector at the AI Action Summit in France, where it showcased its work in Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).
Highlighting the shift in the industry, Kelwin Fernandes adds: "Intuitive marketing is being replaced by engineering. The competitive advantage no longer lies in isolated storytelling, but in the ability to build systems that learn from the market in real time.”
This recognition reinforces Porto’s position as a growing hub for high-impact digital solutions, supported by a strong environment of research, talent and entrepreneurship.
