Porto Economy Award. has 1500 euros for socially and economically relevant academic thesis

The Municipality of Porto wants to distinguish the best academic studies developed in the areas of economic development, attraction and talent retention, competitiveness, knowledge and innovation networks, entrepreneurship, and economic diplomacy. The winner will receive a cash prize worth €1,500 and entries must be submitted by September 30th.

Academic thesis should focus on topics of relevance and interest to the city and, in this first edition, works that have been developed in the 2020/2021 academic year, but also in 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20, written in Portuguese or English. In addition to the first prize, two honorable mentions worth 500 euros each will be awarded.

The jury, composed of Porto City Council representatives, the Business Association of Portugal, the Order of Economists (North), the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Catholic University of Portugal, the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto, the Lusíada University and the Portucalense Infante D. Henrique University, will evaluate the works according to their social and economic relevance; the originality, relevance and scientific qualities; but also for transferability and applicability.

Competitors must send their work in PDF format to the Municipality of Porto by email to pelouros.etc@cm-porto.pt, with the subject "Prémio de Economia Porto.".
