New transatlantic route strengthens international connectivity and investment attractiveness
Porto will gain a daily direct flight to New York starting on 22 May, marking a significant milestone in the city’s international connectivity.
Operated by Delta Air Lines, the new route will connect Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, representing the first-ever daily direct service between Porto and New York.
According to Porto and Northern Portugal Tourism, this new connection reflects Porto’s increasing international visibility, with the airline highlighting the city as one of Europe’s most promising destinations.
This is expected to further support tourism, business travel and foreign investment, strengthening links between Porto and the United States, one of the region’s key strategic markets. The new route underscores Porto’s continued growth as an international hub for business, talent and tourism, improving accessibility and reinforcing its position as an attractive destination for global companies and investors.
