Porto Leading Investor Natixis continues major expansion in Porto
Natixis is expanding its Porto centre, driven by local talent, innovation and strong partnerships, reinforcing the city’s allure for global investors
Proud Porto Leading Investor Natixis is continuing its strong expansion in Porto, where its centre near Campo 24 de Agosto employs around 3,000 people and hires hundreds more each year. The project represents nearly a decade of investment in talent, innovation, productivity and partnerships, and has recently been recognised by the Financial Times’ fDi Intelligence for its impact and potential.
The centre was created from the redevelopment of a former shopping mall and features themed working areas inspired by locations around the world, including the city of Porto and the Star Wars universe, designed to encourage creativity, collaboration and forward-thinking. The space reflects Natixis’ ambition to create an environment where teams can innovate and shape the future.
Porto’s mayor, Pedro Duarte, accompanied by the City Councillor for Economics, Hugo Beirão, praised Natixis as an example of the type of investment the city aims to attract, highlighting its role in creating opportunities and retaining talent. He also emphasised the company’s strong relationship with local universities and the municipality’s commitment to strengthening cooperation to attract further investment and skilled professionals.
According to Natixis’ Director in Portugal, the decision to establish operations in Porto was influenced by the city’s highly qualified workforce, excellent universities, and quality of life. He noted that Porto has become an increasingly attractive destination for international companies and continues to play a key role in attracting further foreign investment to Portugal.
