Porto Leading Investor VisionWare, a fully Portuguese technology company specialising in Information Security and Cybersecurity, has been awarded Gold in the Privacy and Data Protection category of the Digital Maturity Awards (SMD). This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality audit and consultancy services in a sector marked by increasing complexity and stringent standards.
The Digital Maturity Awards, part of Portugal’s national Selo Digital initiative, form a key measure of the Digital Transition Action Plan under Portugal Digital. Supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the programme guides organisations through digital transformation while recognising their commitment to adopting robust digital practices. The National Data Protection Commission and the National Cybersecurity Centre are key partners, reinforcing the certification’s national significance.
Bruno Castro, VisionWare’s CEO, emphasised that winning Gold in such a crucial category consolidates the company’s integrated service offering and validates the expertise of its team. He highlighted that being the first Portuguese company to achieve Gold in this category demonstrates VisionWare’s innovation, rigor, and leadership in information security.
This achievement follows a previous milestone in September 2023, when VisionWare became the first Portuguese private company to receive Gold in the Cybersecurity category of the SMD. The current Gold certification in Privacy and Data Protection further strengthens VisionWare’s position at the forefront of digital security excellence in Portugal, while giving the Porto-based company increased global visibility.
