Porto startup that creates digital humans receives investment of 4.4 million
Dinheiro Vivo · 12 Dec 2019

Didimo is a Porto startup that is attracting market attention because it can create digital versions of any high fidelity human being. It has just raised an investment of 4.4 million euros from Portuguese partners. After proving that this technology works, 2020 will be the year when the company founded by Verónica Orvalho will start selling and doubling the team to over 40 people. At the end of next year, Didimo will also bet on the health market.

"The main objective is to start selling this technology to the international digital and retail entertainment market,” said Verónica Orvalho, Didimo's leader and founder, in an interview with Dinheiro Vivo. Capital injection is also crucial to funding talent hiring, "which in the area where we work, high-tech, forces us to look for the best, very expensive professionals."

Portugal Ventures, Farfetch, Bynd Venture Capital, Beta-i and LC Ventures were the Portuguese entities that participated in this operation, in a deliberate bet by Verónica Orvalho. "There was a great concern in having mainly Portuguese investors. I wanted to pull through our ecosystem.”
