Porto Summer Academy takes students to get to know the city's companies up close
Following participation in the 4th edition of Porto Summer Academy, an initiative promoted by the Municipality in partnership with the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, students had the opportunity to visit several companies in the city.
Between the 2nd and 6th of September, Porto Summer Academy allowed 94 higher education students and secondary school graduates to have direct contact with the city's business community, in an initiative promoted by the Municipality through TERA.
The initiative allowed them to benefit from an immersive experience that included multiple activities, such as Meeting Points, in which the students visited different companies and institutions where they might be able to build a professional career in the future.
The Get Together that served as the initiative’s closing session promoted an opportunity for interaction and cooperation between all elements involved in this year’s Porto Summer Academy. It was culminated with the performance of the corporate band from Porto Leading Investor Critical Manufacturing.
Porto Summer Academy had the collaboration of 21 educational institutions and higher education student associations. Eligible students came from different educational institutions, with emphasis on the University of Porto. More than 50 areas of training were represented in the participants' profiles, with a predominance of students in the areas of Social Sciences and Behavioral Engineering, Business Sciences, and Health.
This year’s edition also saw 44 companies joining the initiative, including CUF, Efacec, Parfois, Sonae, STCP, or Porto Leading Investor Natixis.
