“ReinventaPorto” program supports 120 micro and small companies towards the digital economy
20 Jan 2021
The program that aims to accelerate the transition to the digital economy and respond to the challenges caused by the current crisis kicks off today. Aimed at micro and small businesses in the city, the "reinventaPorto" is implemented by the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) and has the support of the Municipality of Porto.

The "reinventaPorto" aims to reinvent 120 small and micro companies in the field of digital transformation, proposing, for this, an experimental approach and exposure to new models of work management and organization.

In 2,700 hours of training and 24 training actions, which companies will attend free of charge, the program will allow the development of strategic skills for these economic agents and the dynamism of a Digital Accelerator.

Actions involving professional training - e-business, management models and distance work, innovation management, e-content for the digital environment, and change management and new business models - are foreseen, the digital accelerator itself, but also support for the creation of own employment with legal and practical guidance, guidance for digital inclusion and specialized digital training, and guidance for the architecture of business models.

The support of Porto City Council has the signature "Porto Skills Academy”, one of the pillars of the strategy that the Municipality has been implementing in the area of Talent - "Porto. For Talent", launched in 2017, under the guidance of the investment attraction office, Invest Porto. Its objectives are to channel efforts towards the creation and support of innovative actions for the development, attraction and retention of talent in the city and in the region.

The training of economic agents is, for the Executive of Rui Moreira, one of the core areas in which public and private agents must bet in a scenario of deep crisis, "since it is an essential tool to face the difficulties and challenges emerging in the context current, in order to better prepare the city's economic fabric for the future. ”Support that integrated the proposal that the councilor for Economy, Tourism and Commerce, Ricardo Valente, led to the approval of the Municipal Executive, in November last year, regarding this support.

The Porto City Council thus becomes a pioneer in implementing the strategy that ANJE intends to develop for Digital Transition in 30 municipalities, by the end of the year.

"ReinventaPorto" is also part of a set of support measures vis-à-vis Covid-19, including the "Revitaliza Porto." Line, launched to provide support to the city's economic agents in times of pandemic, and which, in the first seven days in force it received almost a hundred orders.
