Rows Continues to Attract Investment
Porto-based startup secures an extension to an 8 million euro investment in order to fuel its growth and expansion.
Porto Leading Investor Rows has successfully completed an extension of its latest funding round. The startup, incubated at UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of University of Porto, aims to accelerate its expansion in key global markets.
Last May, Rows had already announced the first portion of this investment, valued at around 8 million euros. The latest round, closed over the summer, secured an additional 1.4 million euros and brought Explorer into the group of shareholders of the spreadsheet software company.
The purpose of these rounds is to accelerate the company's expansion in markets like the United States, the United Kingdom, and other European countries, while improving the user experience by integrating services such as Notion and Google.
The Porto-based startup is also working on launching a new version of its AI system. In a statement to the Eco newspaper, Humberto Ayres Pereira, co-founder of Rows along with Torben Schulz, explained the updates in the software upgrade: "It responds twice as fast, and it opens instantly (a few seconds to load); it handles many more tasks and types of tasks, such as working with columns, changing formats, creating charts, and even multiple commands in one go; it is more intelligent, able to maintain a conversation and modify previous requests."
Rows currently has around 1 million users and aims to reach between 1.1 and 1.2 million by the end of 2024. Since its founding in 2016, it has raised approximately 30 million euros in investment.
