Startups present innovation and technology to large companies in another Doing Business

In its 9th edition, Doing Business turned its focus to the Tourism area. The event promoted by the Porto City Council through the ScaleUp Porto strategy gave once again the opportunity for start-up companies to present their innovation and technology solutions to major industry professionals.
In all, 95 meetings took place to explore collaboration opportunities, promote innovation and stimulate the capacity for joint growth in an area that everyone agrees to be promising in Porto in terms of innovation, investment, and return.
23 large companies with business in the Tourism area were present, among them ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, the Pestana Group, Sonae Capital, STCP, Transdev, the Super Bock Group, Symington, and Aveleda. All of them have shown interest and capacity to invest in technological solutions and are currently searching for the best technological partners to solve specific needs and challenges of their line of business.
This edition of Doing Business had the partnership of the Associação Nacional de Jovens Empresários, the Associação de Turismo Porto e Norte, the NEST - Tourism Innovation Center, Porto Business School, Turismo de Portugal and UPTEC.
In all, the initiative has already potentiated about 900 business meetings between new technology-based companies (startups and R&D centres) and more mature organizations (corporates).
