Dinheiro Vivo · 11 Aug 2021

The Forbes Cloud 100 list, made in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures, is the ranking of the largest private cloud companies in the world and this year there are two Portuguese companies among those selected, Talkdesk (which makes software for the contact centers and this year alone it is hiring 500 people in Portugal) - in 17th place - and OutSystems - in 61st place.

OutSystems, founded in 2001, helps programmers implement applications that companies need, a feat that is not easy, says in a statement Paulo Rosado, founder and the CEO of the Portuguese company: "there are few programmers and change is complex and constant". "Customers are choosing OutSystems because we enable them to achieve significant productivity while creating relevant applications. We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the world's leading companies leading innovation in cloud technology," he adds in a statement.

Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), OutSystems creates applications capable of being changed quickly and without difficulties.

The Cloud 100 list chooses nominees according to categories such as "market leadership", "estimated assessment", "operational metrics" and "people and culture". They are subsequently evaluated by a panel of judges made up of 34 CEOs of private cloud companies.

The final nominees correspond to the "Best and Brightest Emerging Companies in the Cloud Industry". Says this is Alex Konrad, Senior Editor at Forbes, who explains that it has become increasingly difficult to make this selection over the years - "Congratulations to each of the Cloud 100 honorees from 2021 and to our 20 rising stars who are now about to join this list".

For Byron Deeter, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, "private cloud valuations are growing as the market's appetite for the cloud continues to grow. These founders represent the very best in cloud computing today, and it seems likely to follow in the footsteps of our esteemed Cloud 100 alumni," he says.

For her part, Salesforce Venture representative Alex Kayyal adds, "The past 18 months have made digital transformation an urgent imperative, and the cloud has never been more critical in driving our new digital economy. businesses that are shaping the future of the cloud ecosystem, and we are excited to partner with Bessemer Venture Partners and Forbes to honor these industry pioneers."
