Talkdesk hires 700 this year

Talkdesk hires 700 this year
Dinheiro Vivo · 06 Oct 2020
Talkdesk has established the objective to reach 1000 employees this year in 2017. The platform founded in 2011 by Tiago Paiva and Cristina Fonseca helps companies to customize the telephone service to customers with a system in the cloud, that is, without the need for physical infrastructure. In a pandemic year, the company exceeded its goal and is hiring 700 people.

"We are already 1050”, says João Coelho, one of the two people responsible for the technology company. Since 2018, Talkdesk has been a unicorn, being valued by investors at more than 1,000 million dollars.

By the end of the year, another 600 workers will enter the technology sector, half of which will be in Portugal. "We will have more than 1500 people by the end of this year. We are preparing our human resources teams to be able to ensure that this ambitious but realistic objective is being met." To accomplish this goal, there will also be help from the Tech Dojo program, which integrates recent graduates and masters in Computer Engineering.

The big driver for these hires is the investment round of $143 million, announced by Talkdesk at the end of July, which allowed the valuation of the technology in the market to rise to over $ 3 billion. More than 1800 companies worldwide already use this platform: IBM and Trivago are some of the most famous customers.
