TeamViewer opens up the R&D hub in Porto to drive AR and IoT innovation
TeamViewer, a leading global provider
of remote connectivity and workplace digitalization solutions, announced the
establishment of a new Research & Development (R&D) hub in Porto,
Portugal, to enhance its leading engineering force in strategically important
fields like Augmented Reality (AR) and Internet of Things (IoT). The decision
for Portugal as location was based on a comprehensive selection framework
evaluating key growth and cultural factors including availability of top
talent, educational infrastructure, regulatory framework, entrepreneurial
mindset, and quality of life.
TeamViewer has the ambition to create a world
that works better - in business contexts as well as in private life. Through
innovative remote connectivity, AR and IoT solutions, TeamViewer on the one hand
digitalizes processes across the entire value chain. On the other hand,
TeamViewer democratizes technology by making remote connectivity and AR
solutions available for everyone - bridging distances between friends and
family.
The new location is expected to grow significantly over time to become
a key component of TeamViewer’s global R&D organization. New jobs are being
published regularly on TeamViewer’s career page: https://jobs.teamviewer.com/ and Porto.ForTalent. The open
roles are aligned with the plan to strengthen the engineering workforce in
strategically important fields for TeamViewer like AR and IoT. The team works
on products such as:
• lifeAR
• IoT
