UJET is a technology company focused on artificial intelligence. Headquartered in San Francisco, United States, it has opted for the city of Porto as the location for its first European technology hub. At present, the company employs 60 people locally, with plans to double that figure within the next two years.

According to the company’s Director of Business Operations, the decision to choose Portugal — and Porto in particular — aligns with its strategic goal of creating its principal technology hub and centre of excellence in Europe.

"We intend to tap into Portugal’s vibrant tech ecosystem and its highly skilled workforce to advance the next generation of customer experience solutions,” said Raúl Costa in comments to Jornal de Negócios.

With 60 employees currently based in Porto, UJET’s total workforce exceeds 300 people, providing support to clients in more than 20 countries across North America, Europe and Asia.

The choice of its new offices, situated near Casa da Música in a refurbished mansion now functioning as a co-working space for tech companies, was mainly driven by factors such as "good transport links, a relaxed atmosphere and a strong sense of community”, the executive added.
