VITEC chooses Porto to expand
Technology company VITEC has once again chosen Porto to open its new office. This investment underlines the city's prominent position as an attractive hub for innovative companies in favor of local technological development.
The company has been present in Porto since 2019, but at the end of 2023, it decided to expand its infrastructure by opening a new office in the city.
The rapid growth of VITEC, the world's leading provider of IPTV, Video Streaming, and Digital Signage solutions, has prompted the technology company to look for a new location to host its services, in the city of Porto.
The company's history in Portugal began in 2019 with the opening of a workspace at UPTEC – the Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, a place renowned for offering coworking offices and a networking center adapted to technology experts.
Due to its growth, VITEC decided to look for a larger site to set up its team. According to the statement released by the company, the new office is located close to Porto's technological universities, so it will allow students to work with VITEC while they study, "enhancing their skills” and "providing the opportunity to gain first-hand industry experience”.
"This long-term investment in our Porto office demonstrates that VITEC is committed to providing the best tools and environments to support our R&D team in developing the next generation of products and applications,” commented Philippe Wetzel, CEO and founder of VITEC. "We look forward to working with the best engineering talent in the region to strengthen our offering, as well as becoming an integral part of Porto's thriving tech community,” he added.
