Abreu Advogados nominated for a Financial Times Award
Dinheiro Vivo · 02 Sep 2022
The advisory services in the protocol to fight poverty ImpactMarket and the Hapiness Hub ensured Abreu Advogados a double nomination in the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe 2022, in the categories of "Practice of Law: Market Firsts" and "People Management".

Abreu Advogados was doubly nominated by the Financial Times for the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe 2022, international awards for innovation in the legal sector that distinguish the most innovative firms and projects. The list of nominees is available for consultation.

In addition to being nominated for the category "Practice of Law: Market Firsts", with the advisory work done to impactMarket, a protocol to fight poverty, the law firm is also nominated for "People Management", with the Happiness Hub project, an internal management and support area, created in 2021 to monitor the personal and professional well-being of its teams.

"ImpactMarket is an anti-poverty protocol that enables the implementation of financial inclusion mechanisms, such as unconditional basic income, in vulnerable communities. Based on Blockchain technology, this protocol is managed by a decentralised, open and transparent network that supports disadvantaged societies through donations, allowing donors to monitor the real impact of their donations," explains Abreu Advogados, in the note sent to newsrooms.

The firm's work was based on creating a business model, not provided for under Portuguese law, enabling this project to become operational.

The Hapiness Hub, on the other hand, is a "pioneering project in the legal sector that is guided by the principle that everyone should feel heard, recognised and integrated, and is aligned with the most recent trends in Human Capital management". Abreu Advogados says it has promoted, over the years, several actions focused on this scope.

The "People Management" category includes the nomination of some of the largest law firms in the world, such as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Herbert Smith Freehills or TLT. The awards ceremony will take place in London on 13 October.
