Porto's tech companies open doors to neurodivergent talent

Critical Software and Critical Techworks are hosting the "Neurodiversity Open Days" at the beginning of April. This initiative, held in offices located in Porto, Lisbon, Coimbra, and Viseu, is designed to introduce the recruitment program tailored for neurodivergent youth.

This is the 4th edition of the initiative, open to young people and their families. The Neurodiversity Program was established in 2021 with the goal of challenging the idea that careers in tech are not accessible to everyone. Critical Software and Critical Techworks joined in 2022.

Through this Program, the companies recruit, train, and integrate young people with autism spectrum disorders into their software engineering teams. The goal is to enrich Critical Software's and Critical Techworks' teams with individuals from diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and skills, attracting talent motivated to work in the tech sector. Under the Neurodiversity Program, 22 people have already been hired by the two companies.

Critical Software and Critical Techworks are Porto Leading Investors, a program that acknowledges the importance of the city's most prominent investors. In addition to attracting talent to Porto, the two companies have contributed to the establishment of a tech ecosystem in the city, which has been reinforced over the past few years.
