Porto gains new direct connection to Warsaw
LOT Polish Airlines strengthens links between Porto, Poland and Central and Eastern Europe
LOT Polish Airlines has launched a new direct route connecting Porto and Warsaw, further expanding the international connectivity of the city and the wider Northern Portugal region.
The new year-round service began operations on 25 May and is operated using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. During the summer season, the route offers five weekly flights, while four weekly frequencies will be maintained throughout the winter.
The connection strengthens both tourism and business travel between Northern Portugal and Central and Eastern Europe, while also serving passengers from neighbouring Galicia, in Spain, who regularly use Porto Airport due to its extensive international network. With this addition, Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport becomes the airline’s second destination in Portugal, alongside Lisbon. The route also reflects the growing ties between Portugal and Poland, a market that welcomed nearly 85,000 Portuguese visitors in 2025.
Founded in 1929, LOT Polish Airlines operates from Warsaw Chopin Airport and connects Central and Eastern Europe to more than 100 destinations worldwide, including long-haul routes to North America and Asia.
The new service further reinforces Porto’s position as an increasingly connected international gateway for tourism, business and investment.
