Through a partnership, Sonae Sierra and the Ferreira Group will develop a state-of-the-art office complex in Porto's business area, the company announced this Tuesday in a press release. Resulting from an investment of about 42 million euros, the construction project will feature a "contemporary and flexible architecture, with demanding sustainability requirements".
According to Sonae Sierra, the new office complex will benefit not only from an excellent location, but also from an efficient public transportation network and outdoor green spaces. The space "will provide well-being, comfort and flexibility to its users", it concludes.
"This project fits in Sonae Sierra's strategic purpose of being a key player in the urban reconversion and development of the cities of the future, through the development of sustainable, differentiating and innovative urban projects", states Alexandre Fernandes, Sonae Sierra's director of developments, adding that, in the current context of the recovery of the Porto office market, the company aims to stand out by "developing a unique project in terms of quality, dimension and sustainability". On the other side, Rui d'Ávila, Ferreira Group's Board Member, believes that "with this project, Porto and the Porto Business Zone will consolidate their presence in the international area of the most sought after competitive cities by dynamic and talented companies".
The project is composed by an office tower with 19 thousand square meters of gross area, nine floors and 338 underground parking spaces. Each floor is also estimated to have approximately two thousand square metres, with no barriers or columns, balconies and a 360-degree panoramic view. In order to provide a high environmental and energy performance, according to Sonae Sierra, the complex was designed with "demanding sustainability requirements".
With the licensing already concluded, construction is scheduled to begin during the second semester of this year, and to be concluded by the end of 2023.
