Wunderman Thompson distinguished as the Best E-commerce Agency in Europe
25 Oct 2022
Wunderman Thompson is for the first time Agency of the Year at the European E-commerce Awards.

Wunderman Thompson's E-commerce Centre of Excellence in Europe is a strategic focus for the agency that continues to seek the best talent in the areas of information systems engineering, data science and business processes - in Lisbon and Porto.

Wunderman Thompson has just been distinguished as Best Agency in the European E-commerce Awards 2022, the most prestigious contest at European level where the best online retail websites, software, campaigns, agencies and teams that develop their work in the eCommerce area are recognized.

According to Filipe Silva, Operations Director at Wunderman Thompson Commerce, "this distinction is for us a reason for enormous pride and reflects the work, collaboration, resilience, determination and innovation that our team has shown over the last year". He adds, "I am certain that our culture, the ability of our people and the creativity to inspire the growth of the great brands we work for have also been instrumental in making this dream possible."

Wunderman Thompson has been investing in the creation of an E-commerce Centre of Excellence in Europe, having already opened two important hubs in Portugal - in Lisbon and more recently in Porto. In Portugal, Wunderman Thompson also has a Global Centre of Excellence in Personalization and Marketing Automation (MAP), opening in 2020. In total, the company already has 320 employees in Portugal, from more than 20 nationalities, and aims to reach 600 professionals by 2025.

"We continue to believe that Portugal has very talented people who share the vision we want to bring to our Centres of Excellence", says Nuno Santos, CEO of Wunderman Thompson. "We are therefore looking to establish partnerships with the best universities elsewhere in the country to attract young talent - a pillar of growth for our company in the coming year. We want to continue to play an active role in developing the technological ecosystem in Portugal in a fast-growing area like E-commerce." he adds.
