Sonae MC seeks startups with retail technology

Sonae MC seeks startups with retail technology
ECO Economia Online · 11 May 2020

2nd edition of Disrupt Retail challenges national and international startups that want to test retail ideas in a real environment.

The second edition of Disrupt Retail is open, an acceleration program for technological startups that are developing ideas and solutions for retail and that want to test them in a real environment. The initiative, created by Sonae MC, is looking for Portuguese and foreign startups that are developing or already have "solutions that significantly impact the retail value chain, with emphasis on e-commerce, logistics, health and wellness services, store operations and sustainability”.

Another aspect is "new concepts that help to create synergies and that promote co-creation, and that take Sonae MC brands such as Continente, Go Natural or Well’s, for example, to the next level”.

"With Disrupt Retail, we want to increase our proximity to the technological ecosystem and learn about solutions that can transform our value proposition. We realized that startups and R&D centers, despite this challenging global context, need to continue their activity”, explains Miguel Águas, CIO at Sonae MC.

Applications for the program are open until June 30th and can be made here. The chosen projects will be announced until July 31st and will start collaborating with BIT, Sonae MC's information systems area, later this year.
